Hulking 6-foot-9 Bruins captain Zdeno Chara was part of the crew that helped Kelly to the bench.
The 34-year-old winger had two goals in 10 games this season, coming off a year where he notched 28 points in 80 games. Kelly is in the final season of a four-year $12 million contract. CSN New England's Joe Haggerty notes losing a leadership type player like Kelly would be rough for the Bruins locker room.
Update: The Bruins announced an injury prognosis on Kelly -- a left femur fracture. He's scheduled to undergo surgery Wednesday and is expected to miss the nexit six-to-eight months.
